Of Learnings!

Police personals in Mysore these days have training on computer & internet usages. Dad is attending them as well.

After 3 classes he now knows how to create folders, search documents/files and open browser. Only demerit according to him is that the keyboard is not in alphabetical order and hence he has to search for alphabets before typing. This apparently has decreased his typing speed and given him “neck pain”.

Someone told him that “Google” can find anyone and anything.

Last heard he tried searching his name, got 32 results and is very happy that he is on the Internet.

Innocence is always very CUTE!!!

No Another Chance!

Ghat Section travel along with family in “cabs” used to be so much fun during childhood. I mean we cousins used to always occupy the window seats much eager to get the awesome view the roads provide.

Certain times when the serene was towards the left, few of us on the right would get the Mountain View while the rest towards the left would go “Ohh, wow and ahh” ing.

Out of jealously we would shift seats and to the ones at the right; & then we add to the exclamation game.

This toggling between the sides of the cabs was the most fun part of the journey.

We are not kids anymore; these days the travel consists of bitching each other about how my “airtel” has signals and his/her “Vodafone” doesn't!!!

There is no sunshine and no rain; we only continue growing in vain!!

Taste this, will you?

She finally decided to cook something special for him.

After spending good amount of time reading and re-reading the recipe print-out in the kitchen, the dish was done & ready to be served.

The contents were neatly transferred into stylish crockery gifted by her colleagues who assumed that the girl would need all the elegant dishware to serve the tasty food she would prepare after marriage.

Suddenly a doubt popped in her head which she had to clarify with him.

She: I was just wondering, what is the big deal with “table spoon” and “tea spoon”

He: one tablespoon full equals three teaspoons full

She: Oh! Shall we have lunch?

He: Yeah.

He *looking at the special dish made*: What is this dish? & how come it’s so dark colored?

She: I thought both tablespoon and teaspoon mean the same. Hmm so, instead of 3 teaspoons I put 3 tablespoons that’s 3 times the chilly powder required for the dish.

*Even before she could finish her statement a spoonfull of the spicy dish was relished by the better half*

& rest is history!!!

Last and Lost Words!!

“It's getting bad, Dad. A stewardess was stabbed. They seem to have knives and Mace. They said they have a bomb. It's getting very bad on the plane. Passengers are throwing up and getting sick. The plane is making jerky movements. I don't think the pilot is flying the plane. I think we are going down. I think they intend to go to Chicago or someplace and fly into a building. Don't worry, Dad. If it happens, it'll be very fast....Oh my God... oh my God, oh my God.”

Peter Hanson made a second phone call to his father at 09:00 and the call abruptly ended. Peter Hanson was one of the passenger on United Airlines Flight 175 which was hijacked as part of the September 11 attacks.

He turned 71 on 29 December 2009. His friends and well wishers had planned to celebrate his 70th birthday in a special way. A function was planned at Ravindra Kala Kshetra, Bangalore and Swamiji of Suttur and Virendra Hegde were to facilitate him on the occasion this evening. After this, he was expected to sing his popular songs. As luck can have it, the singer/composer C Ashwath breathed his last on his birthday.

C Ashwath was suffering from renal and liver failures. The musician was admitted to Columbia Asia hospital and was in ICU when he breathed his last. Doctors informed the relatives that there was very less hope. Before his death, he had also intended to perform in USA, Maldives, Australia, Singapore and England.

“DAD was in Mysore for his routine check-up at Vikram hospital. The wound on his leg was almost healing and that’s what the doctors even said on 29th evening 6:30pm. We recently bought an apartment in Mysore, he planned to shift Mysore, his birth place. We went to book gas connection under VIP quota”

Daughter of Sampath Kumar a.k.a Vishnuvardhan told the media. One of Karnataka's most loved film stars, Dr Vishnuvardhan, died at the age of 59 following a cardiac arrest at his home town, Mysore, on 30th Dec 2009. His 200th movie was complete and waiting release on January 22nd 2010.

Death is the termination of the biological functions that define a living organism. Though the definition of “Death” is simple, the outcome is always complicated.
I have mentioned 3 deaths above, each very different. One comes as a shock to the victim, the other is almost expected with victim being hospitalized and the last is a shock to rest, apart from the victim.

But SC says that all deaths are same, but the illusions of the mind are different. In each case death can happen in the very next minute and in every case death should happen one or the other day.

The above requires some deep thinking; anyways this post is also about cause of "Death", “The Birth”. For the lovely people I know who are celebrating their birthdays today. My Hubby, Dummi and Mubeen;

Happy Birthday All of You!!!
